As 2022 comes to an end, it is time for us to reflect on the past year and plan the year ahead. Some years go by faster than others. It is safe to say, 2022 has been one of the faster ones for us at Kontali.

Over the past year, we have continued our journey towards building a stronger Kontali. In October, we launched our new portal, Edge by Kontali, making it easier for our customers to access seafood data and insight. We are also strengthening our insight offering by developing new forecasting models, introducing new segments and species, and providing more data and insight than ever. All of these efforts increase transparency and enable our customers to make better informed decisions.
 
We believe the people are the backbone of any company. At Kontali, we welcomed eleven new employees in 2021, another nine new colleagues in 2022, and we expect to onboard another six people to our team in the first half of 2023. Our team is the foundation enabling us to strengthen our position as the global reference for seafood insight.
 
The seafood market has proven to be highly volatile. As a result, during the second half of 2022, Kontali has focused on mapping the potential consequences of the proposed resource rent tax on salmonids in Norway. As this may heavily impact market dynamics, we expect the resource rent tax to be a central topic for Kontali, our partners, and many of our customers in 2023.
 
Kontali has 35 years of experience, high ambitions and is in constant evolution. Finding the balance in this environment can be challenging at times. We have learned our success resides in our focus on having fun at work.
 
Finally, we want to thank all our customers for an insightful year and for choosing to work with us, making us stronger and even more dedicated to future projects. To all our old and new customers, we thank you for yet another year. We wish you and yours all the best for this holiday season and a happy new year!
