Our New Sales Director is Ready to Take Kontali to New Heights

Our latest addition to the Sales team is ready to tackle Kontali’s growing ambition while releasing Edge by Kontali into the market.

Jostein (33) lives at Fornebu, right outside of Oslo. He has recently joined Kontali as a remote member of the sales team and will also be heading the Oslo office from January 2023. On his spare time, Jostein competes internationally on roller skis, a hobby he turned into a professional passion over the years.
For Jostein, the decision to take on a career in sales, specifically within the SaaS sector, was an easy one. “I knew early on that I wanted a career in IT and sales, and I started my professional career working at Meltwater News AS within Customer Success.  I have, among other things, tried my hand at managing my own portfolio of clients, creating growth through existing and new clients, as well as leading my own team and later on, office”, says Jostein. After his time at Meltwater, he headed over to work for Oneflow and Pexip where he mainly operated in the field of Customer Success.
Building value through SaaS
When asked why Kontali and why take on a remote position, the answer was simple. “The reason why I wanted to work for Kontali, and the main reason why Kontali was so attractive to me, was because of what Kontali has set its eyes out to achieve. I have been a part of building value through SaaS before and I’m a firm believer that this new venture Kontali is taking with their newest product, Edge by Kontali, along side their already established position on the market, will only provide good opportunities for future success”, says Jostein.
“At Kontali, I will be working alongside the rest of the Sales and Marketing team and join their efforts in pushing Edge out into the market. I will be contributing with what I know within the field of software sales, and I hope to be able to help navigate the team into the right direction. Under recruitment, I was presented with Kontali’s aspiring growth ambitions, something that highly motivates me in my new position as Sales Director at Kontali”, says Jostein.

Learning from the best
Like any new employee, Jostein is also seeking to gain experience, knowledge, and perhaps a new skillset from his new job position. “I hope to gain new knowledge in a field I know very little about from before. I might not be from the aquaculture and fisheries industry, but I’ve joined a company that holds experts in their fields, with decades of experience, so I am confident I will be learning from the best. I hope to be part of creating a new success story for Kontali, on an international scale”, says Jostein. For more than 35 years, Kontali has contributed with data, competence, and analyses, which has advanced the industry in Norway and internationally, backed by a full in-house team of industry experts.
